Isn’t nature full of surprises?
Flowers, other than being ornamental, can also be used to improve our health. At the Singapore Botanic Gardens, there is a special place for flowers/plants that heal. (Check this post on how to go there.) The Healing Garden showcases over 400 specifies of medicinal plants. It is organized based on which parts of the human body the plants could be used.
A lot of cultures have a long history and developed system of herbal medicines. This tradition played an important role in health sustenance when modern medicine was not yet available. In fact, many of the prescription drugs these days are extracted chemicals from plants.
These beautiful plants are reminders that nature takes care of us and it is only proper that we return the favor.
