It’s Sunday and still no Weekly Photo Challenge? What happened?
Anyway, I’m glad to be invited by Ailsa to join her weekly travel-themed challenge. I immediately decided to go around campus to take photos and yes I did take a lot but not of foliage, sculptures to be exact. That will be for another post. So no Canberra foliage this time.
But here are my foliage-themed photos from Japan and India. And I also thought it will be nice to have a variety.
LANDSCAPE

“Autumn in Japan”
2009-Yuzawa in Niigata Prefecture during my favorite season. We took a cable car up to the mountains, relaxed in a Japanese-style outdoor hot spring (onsen) and had ice cream afterwards. (Read more about Niigata, Japan.)
ANIMALS

“Do Not Disturb”
2010-Kobe Zoo during my winter term break. I admire how indifferent this panda of the amazed visitors and just kept on chewing his (or her, I forgot) snack. Adorable! (Read more about Kobe, Japan.)
PORTRAIT

“Tea All Around Me”
2012-Munnar, Kerala, India. She was one of the many tea pickers in “God’s Own Country” but she was the only one who allowed us to take a photo of her and even smiled for us! What a nice lady. (Read more about Kerala, India.)
So which one best portrayed this week’s travel theme: a common landscape of autumn foliage, an animal eating leaves or someone picking it up for a living?

I really enjoy the photo of the tea picker and what a good interpretation of the subject ‘foliage’. I have just found your blog today from Freshly Pressed on ‘geometry’ what a wonderful thought to celebrate line, order and structure (geometry) instead of chaos and fast pace. A good read, thank you!
The landscape capture is the best. Awesome colours.
