Last time, I blogged about the Pacific Appreciation Day here in Canberra and how lucky I feel to be a part of a culturally diverse community– getting a glimpse of the beautiful cultures from all over the world. Last week, Vietnamese students from ANU showcased their traditional dances and songs, cuisine and art.
The entire show was festive and interactive. Audiences were able to participate in a traditional bamboo dance. People flocked towards the food stalls and, as expected because Vietnamese cuisine is really good, tables were wiped clean after a few minutes. I was able to try their salad and rice desserts. They were also giving away paintings and postcards for free!
Next week, the university is going to have the Postgraduate Multicultural Festival and Philippines is one of the countries participating. Too bad I don’t have a Philippine traditional dress with me. Nevertheless, I’m already excited for the performances and food!
