Weekly Photo Challenge: ON THE MOVE (Whirling Dervishes)

In this era of porous borders, instantaneous communication, and affordable transportation, there is no doubt that we had produced a generation of people who are always on the move. But movement is not just that of physical, it could also be a movement of ideas and of state of being. Like the whirling dervishes that I witnessed in Istanbul, who journey from the physical to metaphysical, and from reality to perfection, we also have the capacity to transcend not only physical boundaries but also those that we can’t touch but move us in ways that significantly change our outlook in life.

    • Thank you for sharing such information. :) I understand that this is not a dance (I actually did not mention that it is a dance). Before we watched them, I read a little bit about the background of the whirling dervishes and I think it is a beautiful tradition and thanks to Turkish tourism, people from other cultures can also appreciate its importance. Hope to see you here again.
