I want to share my experience with obtaining a tourist visa-on-arrival (VOA) at Mumbai International Airport and I hope many will find this helpful. I advise that you read the official site of India’s Bureau of Immigration regarding tourist VOA before you refer to the rest of this post.

Important Information:

Philippines is one of the countries whose nationals can obtain a tourist VOA. Other countries are Finland, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Indonesia.

Tourist VOAs are available only at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata airports. You cannot get a VOA at other ports of entry in India.

Maximum validity of a tourist VOA is 30 days and is non-extendable and non-convertible.

A minimum gap of 2 months from the last exit from India to date of re-entry is required for tourist visa.

A VOA is strictly for tourism purposes and is not applicable for other types of visa.

These are the requirements and procedures when I applied for a tourist VOA at Mumbai. Note that procedures and requirements may vary.

Requirements:

Passport with 6-month validity

2 passport size photographs (Note: They took only 1 photo from me.)

Photocopy of passport (Note: They didn’t ask for a photocopy of my passport.)

Hotel booking, if applicable. (Note: Since I’ll be staying with my in-laws, this is not applicable for me but I provided complete address, landline and mobile numbers.

Return ticket (Note: A MUST)

Not listed but highly suggested: Bank certificates and related documents to prove the availability of funds sufficient for the duration of stay in India.

Procedure:

Upon arrival, search for the tourist VOA desk. This desk is separate from the regular immigration desks.

An officer will check your documents and provide a form for you to be filled out.

Fill up the form correctly and completely. Write N.A. for non-applicable items.

The officer will check the form and your documents. He will then accompany you to another immigration officer who will check your documents and approve your visa.

At this point, if you have check-in luggage, a ground staff will bring your bags and wait for you until you obtain your visa.

Upon approval, another officer will accompany you to obtain the form for payment and to settle the visa fee (60 USD or equivalent amount in IDR) at a bank/money exchange booth outside the immigration office.

Forms and receipts will be photocopied by an immigration officer and your visa-stamped passport will be handed to you.

Ensure that the details of the visa are correct most importantly its validity.

It took me almost an hour to obtain my visa.

Supporting Documents:

My husband is an Indian national so it was relatively easy for me. I showed a photocopy of our marriage certificate and dependent pass.

If you have an Indian sponsor, make sure you have all his/her details and related documents (e.g. bank certificates), an itinerary and letter of invitation.

If you are attending a wedding, make sure you have the invitation with you and their contact details.

This is a non-sponsored post.

Indeed, we are at the age of travel. Similar to how agriculture, industrialization and technology revolutionized various eras. Convenient, fast and affordable flights have encouraged the human need to explore beyond the familiar. We no longer need heaps of money to make our dream of seeing the world a reality; all we need now is patience in finding the best deals in air travel.

Oh, budget airlines, how can I thank you in more ways than one? Despite your delayed schedule, luggage restrictions, optional meals and comforts to compensate for your cheap tickets, you remain to be the loyal companion of millions of travelers who are willing to stretch their budget at the expense of traditional flying (comfortable waiting lounges, meals and bottomless drinks, blankets and pillows, and tv and radio). Thank you, dear budget airlines, for allowing us to spend our flight savings in seeing different cultures much closer than we can afford once we’re on the ground. And most importantly, thank you for letting us spend time with out loved ones as frequent as our time permits.

You can imagine how thankful I was when I learned that Scoot, a Singapore-based budget airline, commenced flights a year ago connecting Singapore and major cities in Australia. Since my start of PhD program, I have traveled with Scoot 6 times and compared to my experience with Philippine-based budget airlines, Scoot exceeds my expectations.

Scoot operates Boeing 777 planes of which it inherited from its parent company, Singapore Airlines. Boeing 777 is larger and more roomy compared to the usual narrow-sized planes of most budget airlines. It has been delayed only once, based on my experience, and I find the cabin crew friendlier and more accommodating compared to the what I’ve experienced with other airlines in the past.

I highly recommend Scoot for your next flights not only between Singapore and Australia but also to other destinations. Check out their site for updated rates and routes.

Finally, they are celebrating their 1 millionth passenger. Head out to their booking site and check out the information on how to win cash prizes and roundtrip tickets. As their tagline says, “Let’s get outta here!”

After several weeks of hiatus from WordPress’ WPC, I’m finally back! I missed WPC and although I might miss the next ones (we are going for a 2-week trip in India tomorrow), I’m keen on sharing some interesting signs I’ve seen around Canberra for this week’s challenge.

This is a non-sponsored post.

The short period of planning for our first Sydney trip left me with few hotel options and rocket-high rates. Like most travelers, I wanted a place that is close to the center but far enough to escape the urban hustles. I checked AirBnB, which I started using since our Bali trip, and found Sydney City Lodge–affordable, newly renovated and located strategically.

Correspondence

I communicated with John, the manager of the lodge, before I confirmed my payment. He responded promptly to all my queries. He personally welcomed us when we arrived. He was always available to answer our questions during our stay.

Features

The lodge has secured key-less doors and the room we stayed in (Safari double ensuite studio room A8) has its private mini-kitchen with bar fridge, toilet and bath with hot water, cable TV, A/C and fan. The fixtures are new, the bed is comfortable and everything is spotless clean. There is a bbq and breakfast area at the backyard where condiments are available for free. Wi-fi is strong and consistently available and the A/C works perfectly.

They had a half-day minor renovation during our stay and we were given 30-dollar discount/pax for whatever inconvenience it may have caused us, of which none. I can say that the lodge is regularly maintained and renovated.

Location

It is around 10-minute walk to Hyde Park, very close to restaurants and convenient stores, and around 15-minute walk to Central Station.

Rates

Our room was A$96 per night x 4 nights + $50 cleaning fee + $50 AirBnB fee = $484. Check this link for updated rates.

Overall Rating

I’m giving Sydney City Lodge 4.5 out of 5 stars. It is the perfect accommodation both for short- and long-term stays. But I’m not giving it a perfect 5 because it is not situated at the heart of the city; it is not for those who don’t like long walks to reach the famous Opera House and Harbour Bridge. It is in a quiet neighborhood that is a little far from the tourist spots and the Central Station. But if you love exploring on foot, like me, I highly recommend this to be your temporary home in Sydney.

It’s been almost a month since my last blog post. I have been very busy with my research. After my proposal defense 2 weeks back, I took off for Singapore then visited my family back in the Philippines. Now, I’m back here in the Garden City/Singapore and finally had time updating my blog with the remaining photos from our Sydney trip.

Last time, I overloaded my post with cute photos of kangaroos and wallabies. This time, I want to dedicate this post to another well-loved Aussie mascot, the koala.

It is illegal to cuddle or hold a koala in Victoria and New South Wales because these cuddly creatures get easily stressed unless you are a trained caretaker. In Featherdale, one koala kept hopping out of its shelter and climbing out of fences. To distract her, the keeper placed her in a tree branch and allowed us to take photos and gently pat her on the head. She eventually leaped out of the branch and climbed all the way up a nearby tree. Keepers regularly take a koala for visitors to have a close encounter with these lovely animals.

I know this is a touristy shot but this is an irreplaceable experience.

Trivia: Are koalas bears?

No. Koalas are not bears; they are marsupials, a species of mammals which distinct characteristic is their pouches where they carry their young. Early European settles in Australia thought they are bears hence the name, koala bear. But they rightly and simply called koala.

Other than the popular kangaroos and koalas, Featherdale is also home to several wild and domesticated animals. They also have a number of animals endemic to Australia like the fierce Tasmanian devil and ultra-furry wombat.

Tasmanian Devil

Wombat

Echidna

When you’re visiting Sydney, don’t miss this unforgettable encounter by spending at least half a day in Featherdale Wildlife Park.

When I arrived here in Australia, I was sure that I will have an encounter with the country’s most famous mascot, the kangaroo, other than seeing them wrapped up and displayed on market counters (yes, they have kangaroo meat here and it, personally, makes me sad). In contrast to the koala which population is considered vulnerable, it is not uncommon to see roos around Australia hence the roo signs along highways. I had a couple of encounter with wild kangaroos here in Canberra when we hiked Mt. Ainslie and when we toured around Mt. Stromlo Observatory recently.

TRIVIA (thanks to wikipedia!): We all know that young roos are called joeys. But did you know that males are called bucks, boomers, jacks, or old men (old men? really?) and females are does, flyers, or jills? I like the jack and jill combo.

Hello there, mates!

I have never thought that I’ll find myself face to face with a kangaroo and more so feeding one.

Or even dancing with one!

Kangaroos are endemic to Australia that is why it is one of the words that first comes into our minds when we speak of Australia, other than the gorgeous beaches of course, and the surfing, and the deserts, and the Tasmanian Devil, and the Great Barrier Reef, and the Opera House, and Hugh Jackman… (gasps for air) there’s just so many things to talk about!

Going back to the roos, when we visited Sydney, we spent the whole day at Featherdale Wildlife Park. And it was a good idea to reserve at least one afternoon there. Here is the link for admission prices, opening hours and directions on how to get there. We opted for the train and it was an easy route.

When we entered the park, we immediately saw “hoppers” freely “hopping” around. We started feeding them with leaves that we picked up from the trees inside the park. <<< Not a good idea! We are not even sure if this is allowed.

There are some sort of vending machines where you can get a cone of dried leaves for feeding. <<< Good idea!

Finally! We are feeding some roos! Not too fast though…we found out that they are not kangaroos but wallabies. I didn’t know the difference at first except that wallabies are smaller than kangaroos but I couldn’t differentiate a small kangaroo from a wallaby. I learned (thanks to Google!) that roos have more prominent legs that are seemingly disproportionate to their bodies. There are other differences stated here but that is the easiest to spot for me.

A kangaroo

A wallaby

Aren’t joeys adorable? How cute are these little roos hiding inside their moms’ pouches? That is when you can see their head out. But when you only see limbs that look dislocated stuck inside the pouch, trust me, it’s not a cute sight. I saw one (I was not able to take a photo of it) and at first I thought it was a dead joey. I later learned that it is only natural that sometimes they stick their limbs out. Whew!

It was definitely an unforgettable experience for us. We stayed at the zoo until they closed. Our visit at Featherdale is no doubt the highlight of our Sydney trip. Hanging out with animals freely roaming around is a unique way of getting in touch with nature while traveling. It makes me smile every time I look at these photos and I can’t wait to see them again, or maybe their joeys, in the future.

But Featherdale is not just about kangaroos and wallabies. Next up will be the Koala edition of Cuteness Overload!

We look up and we see the sun, the clouds that cover it sometimes, the bird in formation, the whites and bright blues.

We look up and we see the moon, the stars that accompany it, the lit skyline, the blacks and the deep blues.

And yet we see only a very small fraction of what’s up there. Perhaps, only 0.0000000000…..1% of the almost infinite universe. We look up and we feel humbled of how minute our existence is.

We look up and something or someone might also be looking down at us. It is beautiful marriage of perspectives.

“I should have been an astronomer,” I say sometimes. The same way when I say “I should have been an artist, or a writer, or an archaeologist, or an historian, or a biologist…” Because, we know only 0.0000000000…..1% of this almost impermanent world.

We look up aiming to grasp all the knowledge the universe can give only to look back down to this place we thought we know fully. It is a painful discovery of a paradox.

These are the thoughts I had in mind while touring around the Australian National University’s Mt. Stromlo Observatory. Sharing these photos from our tour is perfect for this week’s challenge.

Autumn is my favorite season because it’s the time of the year when the changing of season gives me inspiration.

It’s autumn in this part of the world. Soon the last of the fiery leaves will fall on the ground leaving a soft bed of what remains from autumn. Then the season will change again while the earth embraces these leaves back to its cradle preparing them for the next spring. Change is a part of life, we say. But I see change as a transformation like how these leaves change their form while keeping their essence. Because everything in life, even the mistakes we did, can neither be changed nor undone. They can only be transformed, shedding off their old forms to give way to the new.

Change is around us. Join the Weekly Photo Challenge and share the changes you see.

Don’t miss the Blue Mountains when you’re in Sydney but prepare to spend a whole day for it. Around 2 hours from the city, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is surely worthy of a day trip or even longer than that. We booked a tour with Oztrek together with 14 other travelers. A mini-bus picked us up from YHA near the Central Railway Station. Our driver/tourist guide was very entertaining and accommodating. Our trip was not done in a rush because it was solely for the Greater Blue Mountains Area. We dropped by at small but lovely towns along the way to have our brunch and lunch. We also stopped by at one of the highways when we saw some kangaroos from afar. Though out of the way, our guide took us along routes that show some interesting places (e.g. old suburbs, a retirement village, hidden lookout points).

Flat Rock Lookout

When we reached the Greater Blue Mountains Area, our first stop was the Flat Rock Lookout. Without fences, the cliff where we were standing on provided us a vast view of the Blue Mountains with the Flat Rock in spotlight. Other than the mountains, it’s a region of gorges, falls, gum trees and rainforest. Our guide informed us that this lookout was a secret for a few number of small tours before but is now becoming more popular. It was not crowded when we went there but I had difficulty taking panoramic shots without our fellow travelers in the picture.

The Blue Mountains got its name from the beautiful blue mist of oil from eucalyptus gums that populate the valley. The air is very good that’s why a lot of people who have respiratory problems frequent or even live in the area. Although canopies of eucalyptus stretch as far as the eye can see, koalas do not inhabit this area because this is not the type of eucalyptus they eat.

We then drove to Katoomba where Echo Point is located. This is probably the most famous lookout where trails are provided for those who want to get closer to the renowned Three Sisters. Don’t miss the Giant Stairway (800 steps to the Three Sisters) and the Federal Pass (leading down the Wentworth Falls) if you want to get up close and personal with these geological celebrities.
After a delightful lunch at the small town of Leura, we continued our trip to the Scenic World where we took the Cableway going down the rainforest and the Skyway which crosses a portion of the Jamison Valley. The railway was under construction at that time but we were able to avail of the Skyway for free. The Orphan Rock was used to be accessible but is now closed to public because of its fragile rocks.

Cableway

The Jurassic Rainforest has an elevated boardwalk surrounded by old trees, some are more than a hundred years old. From below looking up to the canopies, it is amazing to imagine how the aborigines knew every corner of this valley and how early European explorers got lost in it.

The Blue Mountains is one of the highlights of our Sydney trip (together with Featherdale which will be on the next post). It is nature, history and culture all in one.

Travel Tips:

1. Bring water and sun protection. Wear comfortable walking shoes.

2. Book with Oztrek for only A$59. It’s cheap because aside from dedicating the trip solely for Blue Mountains (without Featherdale, Jenolan Caves, etc. that are usually included in most travel companies’ packages) add-ons such as the Scenic World rides, meals and ferry ride back to the city are all optional. Plus, the tour guide is really a great source of information. I highly suggest this option instead of a DIY especially if you don’t have your own car.

3. Trek the Giant Stairway.

4. The Jurassic Rainforest is really worth seeing and definitely a humbling experience.

5. Take the Scenic World rides.

It is amazing how a color can change the entire mood of a photo. I played with colors using one image I took back in 2009 using a Sony Digital Camera. The online editing tool I used was PicMonkey with the Warhol Effect (Black + Any Color). At first, I thought of using only the three primary colors but I decided to include green (my favorite color), a B&W and the original one. Which among these stand out?

If you’re in Sydney and a history buff, I suggest visiting the Hyde Park Barracks just in front of Hyde Park. Built by convicts in 1819, more than 50,000 convicts had left their traces in this historical landmark until 1848. For several years, it served as an immigrant hotel, asylum for destitute women, and government offices. It is now a museum for those who want to explore the interesting and mysterious stories beneath the barracks’ walls.

Hyde Park Barracks Museum

The Hyde Park Barracks is one of the 11 Australian convict sites collectively listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. They are the best surviving examples of European imperialism when convicts were utilized for building structures throughout the empire and providing presence in the occupied lands. The convicts who arrived in Australia during the British colonial expansion thrived and formed a vibrant society in Sydney.

Convicts’ clothing

Convict hammocks

The usual meal for convicts

The museum has a well-organized and self-guided tour. We were each handed an audio guide so we can explore the building at our own phase. We saw the architectural transformation of the building throughout the years, the personal things left behind by those who lived and served at the barracks, the everyday life of the convicts and even how Australian aborigines comfortably interacted with them.

A copy of a “Certificate of Freedom”

It is admirable how Australia preserved this part of their history even though it was a taboo before to talk about the fact that the modern Australian society was founded by a group of overseas convicts. The bleak past of this nation has been pardoned similar to how some convicts gained their freedom and started life anew.

Each country has a bitter history of colonization, slavery, racial discrimination and war. Domestic and international efforts to erase the consequences of this past and replace it with values of equality and freedom are worth commending. It is always acceptable to look back to the past but as we all know, let’s use it as lessons learned for a better future. It is not what happened that dictates what will happen after all. At present, we are the ones maneuvering our ways forward.

***

Hyde Park Barracks Museum opens daily from 10am-5pm except Good Friday and Christmas. Admission price is A$10 for adults and A$5 for children and those eligible for concession (e.g. full-time students and senior citizens). A family is A$20. Make sure you bring your necessary ID.

“We’re at f**kin’ Bondi, mate! He isn’t talking to us but to the person on the other end of his mobile phone. He sounds excited as if he was about to jump out of the bus anytime. I wonder whether the person he shares his excitement with can feel, or at least imagine, how f**kin’ awesome Bondi Beach is.

Sydney is not just about the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. There’s more to it than fine architecture and sun-kissed skins. It is a city faraway from its equals yet equally bustling. It has paved hills and flat mountains, laid back beaches and raging falls, high-end opera shows and outdoor movies. People from everywhere gather to surf its waves, meet its kangaroos and koalas and just have a feel of its relaxed atmosphere. For 2 days, we walked around Sydney and took bits and pieces of it as much as we can.

Armed with the Official Sydney Guide I took from the airport half a year ago when I first arrived here in Australia, the scorching afternoon heat and chilly evening breeze didn’t stop us to walk around Sydney for 2 days, without taking any form of public transportation. We decided to take 2 walking tours for each day as proposed by the guidebook. It was easy to follow, with maps and photos and brief descriptions of each site. So if you just landed at Sydney airport, don’t forget to pick up this guidebook. It also has discount coupons in its last pages giving mostly 20% off for entrance fees to various tourist spots, tours, cruises, etc.

1. First stop is none other than the iconic Sydney Opera House. Opened in 1973 after 15 years of construction and tensions between its architect Jørn Utzon and the client, this sail-shaped performing arts centre is now listed a UNESCO World Heritage Site and often cited as one of the greatest architectural masterpieces of the 20th century.

Sydney’s icon, the Opera House, a UNESCO World Heritage Site

2. After the obligatory photos around Bennelong Point where the Opera House is located and with the Harbour Bridge at the background, we followed the signs leading to our next destination, the Royal Botanic Gardens. It is a 30-hectare public park with magnificent views of the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. It seems that this place is a popular spot for wedding pictorial as we saw a lot during that day. Sunbathe, feed the birds, or just read a book under a tree to get a feel of local Sydney.

3. Within the gardens is the Government House, the official residence of Sydney governor since its completion in 1843. It is open to the public with free guided tours. It closes at 4pm so we were not able to get inside.

Government House

4. From the Royal Botanic Gardens, we walked a good 15 minutes along the waterfront until we reached Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair. Dedicated to Gov. Lachlan Macquarie’s wife, Elizabeth, the natural sandstone was carved by convicts to form a bench. Centuries back, this is the same place where Mrs. Macquarie had an amazing view of the harbour, minus the modern elements it has now.

5. We followed the Mrs. Macquarie Road, which eventually turns into Art Gallery Road, to see the vast collection of the Art Gallery of New South Wales. It showcases artworks of different forms (paintings, sculptures, installations), both classic and modern, from different parts of Australia and the world. They have a Monet, Picasso and van Gough paintings among others.

6. We capped off our first walking tour and continued the following day to visit another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Hyde Park Barracks. Now a museum, this is one of the convict sites around Australia that has been listed by UNESCO. It educates visitors about the life of the convicts in the past. I read that Australia used to avoid topics related to this part of its history but now it has been accepted that the convicts who sailed the seas centuries ago had formed the foundations of Australia’s modern society.

Hyde Park Barracks, another UNESCO World Heritage Site

7. Close to the Barracks is St. Mary’s Cathedral, a grand gothic church from 1868. You won’t be able to miss its massive structure and pointed towers. Like all around Sydney, the cathedral has several sculptures installed around it. Feel free to go inside and just admire the overwhelming decorations of the ceiling and altar, if you don’t hear mass.

St. Mary’s Cathedral

8. Right beside the church is the famous Hyde Park. It’s a good resting point where you can just lie on the lawns or check out the ANZAC War Memorial. You will see a lot of locals having picnics or just strolling around.

Hyde Park (Anzac War Memorial)

9. From any point at the park, you will be able to see the Sydney Tower Eye. At 309m, it is Australia’s second tallest free-standing structure and has become a prominent feature of Sydney’s skyline. If you’re not afraid of heights, it would be a good experience to go for the Skywalk tour and marvel at Sydney’s views from its Observation Deck and experience its 4D Cinema.

Sydney Tower Eye

10. Close to the tower is the Queen Victoria Building or QVB. Finished in 1898, it is now a modern shopping centre inside but with beautiful romanesque architecture.

A Blend of Past and Present: Part of QVB’s facade and one of Sydney’s modern buildings.

11. We skipped the Sydney Town Hall and headed straight to Chinatown for some snacks. We also skipped the Chinese Garden of Friendship, Powerhouse Museum, Australian National Maritime Museum and went directly to Darling Harbour to check out the Wild Life Sydney, Sea Life Sydney Aquarium and Madame Tussauds. We were contemplating at that time if it’s better to see this area than go to Featherdale, which is outside the city centre. Good thing we decided to choose Featherdale for a different day (details for the next post) and to just stroll around Darling Harbour.

Darling Harbour

12. The last stop for our 2-day walking tour is the Customs House located at Circular Quay. This is historical building which served as headquarters of Customs Service for this vibrant port city until 1990. Built in 1845, it is now a venue for exhibitions and events.

Sydney is a haven for historical buildings, sculptures and other art installations. I have to say that it is a creatively inspiring place to visit. There are surprises at every corner. I hope you enjoyed this virtual walking tour with me. Next post will be about one of Sydney’s famous beaches.

Earth Hour is an environmental initiative which started in Australia in 2007 that has now become a global movement. For 60 minutes, people around the world SWITCH OFF their lights not only as a symbolic action but also a contribution for a more sustainable environment. This year, Earth Hour also asks us to SWITCH ON to clean and renewable energy.

ANU consistently runs the best Earth Hour events as acknowledged by Earth Hour Australia. ANU is serious about its contributions to environmental management and sustainability. The university has courses focusing on environment and climate change. Waste management is emphasized and being implemented everywhere–from dormitories to offices. Last night, I briefly attended the Earth Hour event here on campus. At 8:30, lights were switched off (though not all due to security reasons, I heard), traditional performances and the fire show started.

I hope that initiatives like this is not only an annual commitment. Everyday is an opportunity for us to contribute in saving the only home we have. Simple actions such as turning off lights and appliances when not in use surely make a difference. Despite the environmental challenges we face today and especially of the generations after us, Earth Hour and other forms of support for the protection of the environment prove that there is still hope. And like hope that flickers during hard times, the sky was much brighter last night as the moon watches from above and the stars smile upon the Earth.

I live in a city where the sunset bleeds deep red and yet it is beautiful.
I live in a campus where the birds’ music is distracting and yet it is calming.
I live in a university sitting in isolation and yet it is welcoming.
I live in Canberra where mountains block us from the rest of the country and yet it is enlightening.

***

March is a month full of celebrations. It is Canberra’s centennial anniversary. Last March 11, Australia’s capital gathered around Lake Burley-Griffin for the day-long festivities concluded by an amazing display of fireworks. That same day, we celebrated our first wedding anniversary. And 2 days after that, my better half’s birthday. It was also a more than week-long celebration for us as we continued our time together in Sydney (that will be for a different post).

ANZAC Parade in front of the Australian War Memorial

The Australian War Memorial

One of the highlights of that week is our cycling around the city all the way to the Australian War Memorial as the starting point of our 2-hour hike to Mount Ainslie. Mount Ainslie, I say, is the Black Mountain or Telstra Tower’s lesser known brother. I highly recommend driving up to the summit or, if you’re the adventurous type, follow the trail which starts at the Australian War Memorial.

We did a leisure hike for 1 hour and less than an hour going down. The path is clear and well-maintained; some sections are flat but mostly, and obviously, the path is steep. We’ve seen a lot of joggers conquering gravity, friends just strolling around and kangaroos having their afternoon snack. It is best to go there a couple of hours before sunset.

The view from the summit was magnificent as it rewards you with a panoramic view of the city. At the background is the Black Mountain silhouetted by the warm hues of the setting sun. It was a beautiful view and an awe-inspiring moment and I want to share this sunset photo with you and a quote by Rumi. I hope you like it.
